Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez reaches 100 caps for Chile

The Arsenal forward joins Claudio Bravo as the Roja's sole centurions, as the nation chase a place in the Copa America final against Argentina on Wednesday

Chile star Alexis Sanchez has marked his 100th appearance for the Roja in the Copa America Centenario against Colombia.

The Arsenal striker passed the milestone at the start of the semi-final, as his nation seek a second Copa title in two years.

Alexis was key in the Roja's march to their first-ever major trophy in 2015, under Jorge Sampaoli, winning in the final against Argentina.

His first international appearance came against New Zealand on April 27, 2006, and to date he has scored 34 times for his country, making him the joint second-highest scorer of all time with Ivan Zamorano, behind Marcelo Salas.

Arsenal paid tribute via Twitter to the 27-year-old, who becomes just the second Chilean after Claudio Bravo to reach his centenary.
