Arsene Wenger deliver latest Arsenal injury update after Leicester win

Arsene Wenger is hoping that Laurent Koscielny’s thigh injury will not prove to be too serious after the defender was forced off at half-time during Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Leicester on Sunday.

The Gunners centre-half, who started alongside Per Mertesacker in the heart of Arsenal’s defence at The Emirates, was replaced by Calum Chambers at the break after suffering a dead leg.

Speaking after the game, Wenger revealed that he is hopeful that Koscielny will not be sidelined for long and played down the seriousness of the problem.

Wenger told BBC Sport: “It’s a kick on his thigh. He couldn’t move the leg any more. It should be not too bad.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal defender Gabriel Paulista missed Sunday’s game with a slight hamstring injury, the club confirmed on Twitter before the match.

Arsenal came from a goal down to earn the three points against the Foxes after a thrilling game in north London.
