Would Jamie Vardy be a good signing for Arsenal?

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy is being linked with a move to the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United by Sky Sports. However, the Gunners have been linked with moves for a number of strikers in January, including Troy Deeney and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

However, surely if the Gunners are interested in Deeney, then a move for Vardy cannot be ruled out. The England international has enjoyed a meteoric rise this season, scoring 15 Premier League goals. He is now joint-top Premier League goal scorer alongside Everton’s Romelu Lukaku.

Vardy may have enjoyed a meteoric rise to stardom this season, but he has now proven he can score goals at the top level. It has taken the 28-year-old a long time to get to the top, but he is now taking his chance.

He turns 29 next week and he may not represent much of a long-term investment, especially as one of his biggest assets is his pace, which is an attribute that tends to fade with age.

A move for a player Vardy’s age may represent a gamble, but if Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is looking at Deeney, then surely Vardy really cannot be ignored.
Should Arsenal make a move for Jamie Vardy?
