Wenger delivers latest Arsenal injury update after Sunderland victory

Arsene Wenger has revealed that Arsenal suffered no fresh injury concerns after their 3-1 FA Cup victory over Sunderland on Saturday.

The Gunners boss opted to rest a number of first-team regulars for the game at Emirates Stadium, including Mesut Ozil, who watched his team-mates in action from the stands.

Arsenal are currently without a host of players due to injury, including the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla.

Speaking to the media after Saturday’s cup win, Wenger confirmed that the north London side had not suffered any fresh setbacks as they now turn their attentions to Wednesday’s crunch clash with  Liverpool at Anfield.

Wenger told reporters at his post-match news conference at Emirates Stadium: “I believe that the next step is to get Tomas Rosicky back, Danny Welbeck back, Alexis Sanchez back, Jack Wilshere back and maybe we will get one player in.

“Overall, I think we have no new injuries so I’m not worried. If we had the same number of injuries we would be a bit short.”
