Stoke 0 Arsenal 0: Player ratings as Petr Cech sparkles

Petr Cech (man of the match) Solid as usual. Great double save in the 56th minute. Was much more busy in the second half and made a number of key saves late on. 8/10

Hector Bellerin Used his searing pace to get forward well on a number of occasions in the first half. 6

Per Mertesacker Did his defensive duties well but needs to improve his distribution. 6

Laurent Koscielny Was guilty of sloppy passes out from defense in the first half. Kept Stoke’s forwards at bay well, especially during waves of pressure early in the second half. 6

Nacho Monreal Typically solid from the Spain international. Has developed into one of the Premier League’s top full-backs. 6

Aaron Ramsey Decent performance in midfield amid constant jeers from the home fans. Brilliant clearance off the line late on. 6

Mathieu Flamini Did OK but like many of his team-mates, gave the ball away with a couple of sloppy passes while under no pressure. 5

Joel Campbell After a few heavy touches early on, created the first chance of the game with a neat through-ball for Giroud. Should have done better with a shot in the box late on. 5

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain Brought in in Mesut Ozil’s absence due to a foot injury. Forced a good save from Butland in the 29th minute with a decent effort. Sloppily gave the ball away during the second half as he began to tire. 5

Theo Walcott A relatively quiet first half and had no end product from promising positions. Generally disappointing. 4

Olivier Giroud Saw his attempt well-saved by Jack Butland in the 21st minute and had a header early in the second half tipped around the post. 5
