Arsenal have suffered yet another blow in the summer
transfer window after Lyon announced that they had rejected a £29million
bid for Alexandre Lacazette from the north London outfit.
Reports suggest 25-year-old forward wants to leave
Lyon ahead of the 2016/17 campaign but the Ligue 1 club are determined to keep
hold of their prized possession.
Gooners are praying Arsene Wenger brings in
attacking reinforcements this summer but they will have to up their bid
for Lacazette if they are to be successful in landing the France striker.
‘The reality is that Arsenal made an offer of €35m to
Olympique Lyonnais which we did not respond to for one reason only,’ a club
statement read.
‘Lyon will keep Alexandre Lacazette who is
irreplaceable and is a key man in Bruno Genesio’s squad.’
