Arsenal youngster Chuba Akpom is reportedly set to be
given a chance to impress in their pre-season friendlies.
With Olivier Giroud being given extra time off after Euro
2016, the Gunners have a spot free up front.
According to the Evening Standard, manager Arsene Wenger is ready to give
this opportunity to Akpom, ahead of more experienced rivals such as Theo
Walcott.
Walcott disappointed last season, while the 20-year-old
played 35 times in the Championship while at Hull City – only scoring on
three occasions.
Fans of the north Londoners have been calling for Wenger
to bring in a new signing up front, but without one so far it appears that
Arsenal will look within for a forward.
