Arsene Wenger has revealed that he will be giving Arsenal
stars involved in Euro 2016 and the Copa America a four week holiday.
This could mean that the likes of Olivier Giroud, Laurent
Koscielny, Mesut Ozil, and Aaron Ramsey will be unable to play in their first
game of the season – against Liverpool on August 14.
They were involved in Euro 2016 until part-way in to
June, and will likely need at least a week or two of training before playing.
Alexis Sanchez has a better chance, with the Copa America
coming to an end earlier, on June 27.
‘It takes you two or three weeks to regenerate… to recover completely, and they need to come back with hunger. That disappointment to lose a final, it takes some time to recover from that.

‘I believe the club benefits from [our players’] experiences
at the top level, and the mental experiences as well that they have gone
through with such a huge pressure.
‘Of course in the longer term you benefit from that.
