Arsenal will reportedly hold transfer talks with the
agent of Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi in London next week.
The Gunners are determined to land a new striker this
summer and have already been turned down by Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy.
Icardi, 23, is considered one of Europe’s top young attacking players, having scored 43 goals for Inter in the last two seasons.
This has attracted interest from Arsenal and a host of
other top clubs, but it is the Gunners who are said to be stepping up their
interest, according to Gianluca
Di Marzio.
Inter are not expected to let their star player go
easily, but Arsenal are running out of options to strengthen in the
centre-forward department after missing out on Vardy and with big names like
Gonzalo Higuain and Alvaro Morata looking unaffordable or unavailable.
