Arsenal confirmed the signing of Bolton
defender Rob Holding on Friday and it would appear the Gunners have
bought wisely judging his performances last season.
The Gunners have been tracking the 20-year-old, who
helped England’s U21s to success at the Toulon tournament last month, for the
last year and now have their man.
While many Gunners fans might be slightly underwhelmed
with his capture, with many calling on Arsene Wenger to sign a striker, the
statistic below shows Holding’s defensive prowess.
The centre-half, who can also play at right-back, only played 26 games for relegated Wanderers last season and still managed to make more interceptions than any other U21 player last season.
