The French centre-half was forced off at half-time during the north London side’s 2-1 win over Leicester City last weekend after suffering a dead leg against the Foxes at Emirates Stadium.
However, the Arsenal manager has revealed that the centre-half has been making positive progress at the Gunners’ training ground this week and could be in contention to feature against the Tigers in north London.
Wenger told Arsenal’s website: “Koscielny is doing well. He has a test this morning and he looks positive.”
The Gunners boss went on to hint that January signing Mohamed Elneny could be set to start Saturday’s game, as Arsenal look to book their place in the sixth round of the FA Cup, having faced Hull in the last two years running.
He continued: “Elneny is fit. He is one of the players who could get a run [out] there. He’s mobile, he’s a very good player. He’s adapting at the moment and I think he’s there now. We’ll certainly see him against Hull. He has a chance to start.”
The Arsenal boss also confirmed that he is not planning to give some of his first-team regulars a breather against Steve Bruce’s side.
“I will, as always, play a team who has a good chance to qualify,” he said. “The normal squad is involved on Saturday. It is a normal squad and we’ll play a usual strong team.”
