Michael Owen is predicting that Arsenal’s FA Cup clash
with Burnley on Saturday will be a low-scoring affair – because he believes
that the two sides’ priorities lie elsewhere.
Arsenal head
into the fourth-round clash at Emirates Stadium looking to return to winning
ways after the disappointment of their 1-0 loss to Chelsea in
the Premier
League last weekend.
Arsene Wenger’s
side have won the FA Cup for the last two seasons running – and Owen believes
that their focus will be on improving their form in the Premier League and not
Saturday’s clash with Burnley in north London.
Writing in his column for Bet Victor, former striker Owen said: “Holders Arsenal
haven’t won in their last three whilst Burnley have won four on the spin.
“One could argue that both sides have other priorities;
the Gunners chasing the Premier League title and the Clarets promotion back to
the top-tier of English football.
“I don’t expect to see many goals with both clubs having
big league games in midweek.”
