Arsenal have been dealt a big blow in their attempts to
sign Bayer Leverkusen, according to the Daily Express.
The Gunners have been linked with a move to sign the
Mexico international to provide competition for Olivier Giroud but the North
London club could now be forced to turn their attentions elsewhere.
According to the Metro, the striker was interested in a
move to Arsenal as he is keen to test himself in the premier league again but
it seems the strikers wishes will not be granted as Bayer Leverkusen’s chief
ruled out the sale of the player in this winter transfer window.
Bayer Leverkusen sporting executive Rudi Voller poured
cold water on rumours linking the former Manchester United striker back to
England
We’re not selling Chicharito to Arsenal or anyone else,”
he said.
“He’s not for sale.”
The striker has already scored 19 goals in 22 appearances
and the North London club are now set to miss out on the 27 year old despite
Alexis Sanchez reportedly telling Wenger to try sign the striker.
