Mesut Ozil has taken to social media to wish Lukas
Podolski all the best after the former Arsenal forward announced his retirement
from Germany duty on Monday.
Podolski called time on his international career after
helping the German team reach the semi-finals of Euro 2016 in France.
The 31-year-old helped his country win the 2014 World Cup
in Brazil, and scored 48 goals in a 129-cap career.
The 3-0 win over Slovakia at Euro 2016 earlier in the
summer has proved to be Podolski’s final game for his country.
Arsenal star Ozil lined up alongside Podolski plenty of
times for both club and country.
And the Arsenal playmaker was quick to use his personal Instagram
account to pay tribute to the Polish-born forward.
Ozil shared the photo montage above on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “Do you remember, @poldi_official? We fought, we suffered, we laughed and we won together. Three cheers for you, bro! Thank you for everything #DieMannschaft”
