Arsenal midfield star Santi Cazorla has targeted a return
against the fierce rivals and title challengers Tottenham Hotspur on March 5.
According to Football Insider, Cazorla will miss the
games against Barcelona, Manchester United, Swansea and Hull before playing
some part in the title showdown between North London rivals.
Cazorla has missed 15 games for Arsenal since injuring
his knee ligament. In that time, Arsenal’s form has been largely inconsistent
suggesting how vital the little Spaniard to Arsene Wenger’s game plans.
Cazorla to return vs Tottenham
Speaking on his talisman’s injury concerns, Wenger
said: “He is on a fitness programme now so it means it is not a
question of months anymore, it is a question of weeks for him to be back.”
According to club’s sources, Arsenal have booked 29th
February as the date for Cazorla to play a Under-21 game against Wolves to
prove his fitness. Club doctors are confident of the fitness
schedule Cazorla is on, and they expect him to be available for Arsenal’s
crucial title showdown with Spurs next month.
At present, Arsenal are second while Spurs are third
in the league table and look the favorites to win the title this season. Gunner
fans must be happy to see the back of Cazorla, as he can inspire them to their
first league title in 12 years.
