Ian Wright predicts how many goals Arsenal's new signing Lucas Perez will score in this season

Ian Wright believes new Arsenal signing Lucas Perez is capable of scoring 15-20 goal this season.

The Spanish striker completed a £17m move to the north London club from La Liga outfit Deportivo La Coruna on Sunday afternoon.

Former Arsenal striker Wright is confident Perez can have an instant impact in the Premier League despite his modest goal-scoring record.

“I’m delighted they’ve come. Hopefully he can score goals,” Wright told The Sun Goals app.
“Look at Ighalo. Ighalo was the same. Hardly scored any goals where he came from.

If he comes in and for this season he kicks on and scores 15-20 goals that will get him going. He will get chances in the Arsenal side.

“Ighalo did it in the Watford team with all due respect. If he kicks on in the Arsenal team with the chances that they make, he could easily score 20 goals – continuously.”

Deal done: Jack Wilshere leaves Arsenal for Bournemouth

Jack Wilshere has joined Bournemouth on a season-long loan from Arsenal.

The 24-year-old England international will team up with Eddie Howe’s side as he looks to force his way back into Sam Allardyce’s national side.

Wilshere was dropped by the new England manager for his first squad and he has now left the Emirates in search of first-team football.

Arsene Wenger was believed to be reluctant at first to let him leave but decided to grant Wilshere’s wishes in the end.

It will not be a cheap deal for Howe’s team as they will have to cover all of Wilshere’s £80,000-a-week wages.

The Cherries have also paid Arsenal a £2million fee for the privilege of having Wilshere at the club.

It will undoubtedly be seen as a huge coup for Bournemouth nonetheless and they beat Crystal Palace, Roma, West Ham and AC Milan to his signature.

Arsenal new signing Shkodran Mustafi revealed How Ozil convinced him to sign for Arsenal

Shkodran Mustafi has lifted the lid on his impending transfer to Arsenal and revealed that his Germany team-mate Mesut Ozil helped convince him to move to the Emirates.

It’s understood Mustafi completed a medical with the north London outfit at the weekend and Arsene Wenger even confirmed that a deal for the 24-year-old Valencia defender would be announced imminently.

‘I haven’t spoken to Per yet, since I haven’t seen him for a while, but I spoke with Mesut,’ Mustafi told Sky Germany.

‘He told me everything I wanted to know. How the club is, how it’ s run.
‘Everything he said was very positive, and I was quickly convinced since I find the club awesome.

‘It’s not quite the typical English club who plays the typical English football but instead the football that I like.’

Watford 1-3 Arsenal:Player Ratings as Sanchez and Ozil return to give Arsenal a first Win

Alexis Sanchez scored one and set up two as Arsenal’s scintillating first-half performance blew Watford away at Vicorage Road.

Santi Cazorla gave the visitors the lead from the penalty spot, ending his long wait to get on the score sheet for Arsenal after missing the second half of last season.

Having been brought down by Watford’s Nordin Amrabat for the penalty, Sanchez made it 2-0 from Theo Walcott’s cross as his scuffed finish made it over the line.

The Chilean was involved again just six minutes later as his pin-point cross was put on a plate for Mesut Ozil to head in the third and put the game beyond doubt before the half-time whistle.

Michael Owen states Prediction for Watford v Arsenal clash

Michael Owen believes Watford and Arsenal will play out a high-scoring game at Vicarage Road on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners are still waiting for their first Premier League after Arsenal lost 4-3 against rivals Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium in their opening Premier League game.

The north London side were held to a goalless draw with Premier League champions Leicester City at the King Power Stadium last weekend.

Watford, on the other hand, drew 1-1 with Southampton in Walter Mazzarri’s opening Premier League game in charge of the Hornets before a 2-1 defeat by Chelsea last weekend following Diego Costa’s late winner.

“The Hornets have lost all six games against the Gunners in the PL but they gave Chelsea a fright at Vicarage Road last weekend and this is a tough game to predict,” Owen told BetVictor.

“Watford have led in both PL games so far this term but have only picked up a point; I think there will be goals again at the weekend.”

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has sung the praises of imminent transfers Lucas Perez and Shkodran Mustafi.

The Gunners boss insists he has not been forced into making ‘panic buys’ late on in the summer transfer window, as he believes in the quality of the players set to come in.

The pair could cost a combined £52million, based on various reports, though some have questioned if Perez in particular is of the required calibre to lead the line for a club like Arsenal.

‘Look at my face, is it the face of somebody who does a panic buy?’ Wenger told reporters.
‘It looks like it will be frenetic for me in the last three days. Everybody has sat on their pounds until now. We know they will all splash out now. I expect the next three days to be very, very busy.

Deal Done: Sporting Lisbon confirms that Arsenal complete the deal for This striker!

Sporting Lisbon have accepted Joel Campbell's 'challenge' and signed the Arsenal forward on a season-long loan deal.

The Costa Rica international made 19 Premier League appearances for Arsene Wenger's side last season but has moved away from the Emirates Stadium in search of regular game time.

Sporting announced the signing in bizarre fashion on Twitter as Campbell tweeted the club's official account urging them to secure his services, which prompted the club to confirm his rival a minute later.
An Arsenal club statement said: "Everyone at Arsenal wishes Joel a successful season in Portugal.

"The move is subject to international clearance and formal ratification."

Campbell joined Arsenal in 2011 and has had spells on loan at Lorient, Real Betis, Olympiacos and Villarreal in an effort to force his way into Wenger's plans but remains behind the likes of Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the pecking order.

Arsene Wenger delivers latest Arsenal transfer update after 0-0 draw at Leicester

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Arsenal do have funds to spend on further summer signings after Saturday evening’s goalless draw at Leicester City.

The Gunners were unable to beat the Premier League champions at King Power Stadium despite Wenger bringing on Olivier Giroud and Mesut Ozil in the second half in search of a winner.

Wenger has been linked with a host of players in the summer transfer window but the Arsenal manager has only completed three deals so far.

Asked whether the Gunners are close to signing a new player, Wenger told BT Sport: “Yes we are close.”

Wenger added: “I would say spending in itself a quality. Spending and buying the right players is a quality. I am fed up responding to the same things that we do no want to spend.”

Watch : Arsenal Legend Thierry Henry couldn't Hide his frustration of being an Arsenal fan

Thierry Henry has perfectly summed up the pain and frustration of being an Arsenal fan.

The legendary striker was speaking about Arsene Wenger’s side’s chances for the 2016/17 campaign and did little to hide his frustration that the same thing happens every season.

And he even suggested that a finish outside the top four could force a change within the club for the better.

When asked whether Arsenal will finish in the top four, he took a deep breath and replied: ‘I hope. My answer every time is I hope.

‘I hope we win the league, I hope we’re going to finish in the top four. I hope. That’s what I hope for.

‘Every time I hear that people are saying “this year’s going to be the year that Arsenal are not going to make top four”, and I hear that quite a lot, and we manage every time to get by.

‘But it’s going to be a tough one. It’s going to be a really tough one.
When quizzed if it would be better for them to finish outside the top four, Henry admitted it might provide a spark.

‘Yes, in a way, because you are going to have to change stuff,’ he added.

‘And what it is, they always have that late run at the end of the season. People say “if you carry on that level from last year then we can have a good season” but then we all know what always happens the season after.

‘And I agree with you, it might change something if you are not in the top four.’

Arsenal Legend Paul Merson states his prediction for Leicester City v Arsenal

Arsenal legend and Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has given his opinion over Arsenal’s upcoming Premier League tie with champions Leicester City.

Merson, speaking in his weekly prediction column for Sky Sports argues that his old side need to kick off strongly now to avoid fighting an uphill battle later on in the season.

“Arsenal have to win this match. People will say there are still 36 games left after this, but you can’t afford to fall six points behind. Come the end of the season, playing catch-up takes its toll.”

However, due to the lacklustre showing of Arsenal’s defenders against Liverpool, Merson does not predict that his former side will win against the champions and believes that the game will end as a 2-2 draw.

“This is a big football match and I think there will be goals. Last season, Wes Morgan and Robert Huth blocked every shot they jumped in front of, and I don’t think that will happen again.

“Arsenal can’t defend, we know that, so I’m going for a score draw.”

Alexis Sanchez can be a mix of Luis Suarez and Sergio Aguero up front says Arsene Wenger

Arsene Wenger believes Alexis Sanchez can solve Arsenal’s striker problem after claiming he can be Luis Suarez and Sergio Aguero rolled into one.

Wenger started with Sanchez through the middle against Liverpool last Sunday and sees it as a long-term option with the Chilean forward set to start up front at champions Leicester in Saturday's tea-time match.

Sanchez has played most of his games on the left since his £33m move to the Gunners in 2014 but Wenger believes he has all of the attributes to be a success as a true striker.

Arsenal boss Wenger likened Sanchez’s work-rate to Barcelona superstar Suarez and his technical ability to that of Manchester City goal-machine Aguero.

And it all could also mean bad news for Olivier Giroud

Good news: Arsene Wenger Deliver latest positive injury news for Arsenal fans

Danny Welbeck will return to action for Arsenal months ahead of schedule, Arsene Wenger has revealed.

The England international had been expected to be out until at least 2017, possibly as late as April, after undergoing knee surgery following an injury picked up in a 2-2 draw with Manchester City in May.

However Wenger says his injury is healing well and expects the former Manchester United striker to return by Christmas.

‘He had an inflammation of his knee and they had to go in again to see if it is healing well or not,’ said the Arsenal manager.

‘If the healing was not good, he would have been out until April. But the news was excellent and he will be back around Christmas.

‘He had a second check, not a procedure, a check with a camera inside. That was the good news of last week, the only good news. That was very positive.

Photo: Manchester United striker all smiles with Arsenal legend Thierry Henry

Marcus Rashford was presented with the opportunity to get some tips from Arsenal legend Thierry Henry on Tuesday afternoon.

The Manchester United striker was an unused substitute in the Red Devils’s 3-1 victory over Bournemouth at Vitality Stadium on Sunday afternoon as Jose Mourinho’s men made a winning start under the Portuguese coach.

Rashford was one of the big positives to come from an otherwise disappointing season for the Red Devils as the 18-year-old scored eight goals in 18 games in all competitions last term.

And the United striker was afforded the chance to meet one of the Premier League’s greatest-ever goal-scorers on Tuesday as Henry made the trip to United’s Carrington training ground.

Confirmed: Arsenal reveal Reine-Adelaide's number after promotion to first-team

Jeff Reine-Adelaide will wear the No. 31 shirt after being promoted to the Arsenal first-team, the club have revealed.

The 18-year-old midfielder is being tipped for big things at the Emirates as a result of his impressive performances for the Gunners’ academy sides and was rewarded with a promotion at the end of last month.

Reine-Adelaide follows a long line of academy products to make the step-up in recent seasons and many are hoping the youngster has a similar impact to the likes of Hector Bellerin and Alex Iwobi.

There was speculation the France Under-18 international would wear the No. 20 shirt after being pictured in Mathieu Flamini’s old No. 20 shirt in pre-season but Arsenal have confirmed he will wear the No. 31.

Arsene Wenger may be forced into playing Reine-Adelaide following injuries to Iwobi and Aaron Ramsey in Arsenal’s opening Premier League match against Liverpool.
