Arsenal are ready to spend up to £60m on signing a new
striker in the summer transfer window, according to Italian journalist Emanuele
Giulianelli.
The north London side have inevitably been linked with a
host of players this summer but have thus far only signed midfielder Granit
Xhaka and striker Takuma Asano.
Arsene Wenger appears to have already signalled his
intention to bring in a new striker in the summer transfer window with the
club’s failed
bid to sign Jamie Vardy from Leicester City before Euro 2016.
Now, Italian reporter Giulianelli has claimed that
Arsenal chiefs held a meeting this week to plot a bid for a striker as Wenger
looks to bolster his attacking options.
Giulianelli goes on the claim that the Gunners have a top
target in mind, but that the player’s identity is only known by those high up
at the club.
Giulianelli tweeted:
Arsenal staff had a transfer meeting today & are
plotting a big name striker move. Not Higuain/Lacazette/Icardi though.

It's just Wenger, Bould, Ivan Gazedis and the core staff
who know the name.#Arsenal
