Arsene Wenger Deliver Latest Arsenal Injury Update And Team News Ahead Of Leicester Clash

Arsene Wenger has revealed that Danny Welbeck could make his return to action for Arsenal’s first team in the FA Cup clash with Hull City next weekend.

The England striker has not featured for the north London club so far this season due to a knee problem but is now closing in on a return to action for the Gunners.

Welbeck recently played for Arsenal’s Under-21 side and Wenger has revealed that the forward could be involved against Hull in the FA Cup fifth-round clash on 20 February.

Wenger, whose side host Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday, told Arsenal Player: “He [Welbeck] is doing well, it is a bit early for him maybe but he is now back to full power in training.

“It is a big possibility [he could be involved against Hull next week]. We gave him one or two days recovery after the under-21 game, but now he is back in full training. He has worked very hard and he is fit.”

The Gunners boss also went on to deliver the latest Arsenal injury updates on midfield duo Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere.

Wenger revealed that the pair are also both closing in on returns to action.
He continued: “They are back running, they are on a fitness programme now so it means it is not a question of months any more, it is a question of weeks for them to be back.”

He added: “It is a similar squad available to last week, we are still early in the week but we should have everyone available. Of course Rosicky [is out], and Wilshere is not ready. But everyone else should be available.”
