Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has been officially named
Germany’s player of the tournament for this summer’s Euro 2016.
The 27-year-old shone for Joachim Low’s side in what
proved to be a frustrating few weeks in France, as they failed to hit anything
like their best form.
Still, Ozil contributed one goal and one assist to
Germany’s cause as they reached the semi-finals of the competition.
The Gunners star also boasted a pass accuracy of 91% and
created 48 chances for his team-mates throughout.
Ozil beat fellow star performers Toni Kroos and Jerome
Boateng to the vote, according to the DFB
website.
